An open letter from Mr. Right

Dear daughters of God,

Contrary to what you have heard, I do exist. I’m no fairytale hunk with big muscles and thing for chick flicks (although, I may or may not have a man bun). So, put your daydreams of love off to the side for a minute and let me tell you what makes me, “Mr. Right” and why people keep telling you to wait for me.

The first thing I really want for you to understand is that I was not born your Mr. Right. I promise we weren’t destined to cross paths and lock eyes from across a crowded room and fall hopelessly in love. God has been working in my heart for YEARS! Do you realize what was in my heart before Christ saved me?! Of course you don’t because we haven’t met yet, but I can promise you it is equally as crazy and sinful as…

Dear Guy Friend: I Want Your Wife to Love Me

Disclaimer: I want to make clear that not much has been said on the Bible about this and thus these are MY convictions and I won’t force them upon anyone else. I have nothing against people whose convictions are otherwise. But if somehow you can obtain wisdom out of it, then it would be my greatest honor and pleasure. No, I don’t ward guys off and I have a lot of close, healthy friendships with males in my life – men that I trust with every fiber of my being and have one-on-one friendly dates with. And in case of any intrigue, this is addressed to a general audience and I’m not writing to one specific person. I would also like to give a shoutout to my four closest male friends, three of whom pre-approved this post: Paolo, Rob, Mark, and Aaron. Couldn’t be more blessed to have you guys…

dance, grandma!

When you wake up and your hair looks great, you know it’s going to be a good day. Saturday mornings are my absolute favorite. What’s better than waking up and realizing you don’t have school? I instantly assumed someone was cooking breakfast, but I was proven wrong as I made my way down the stairs. My poor grandmas, they wake up so early and they haven’t had anything to eat yet. About my grandmas, they’re both currently staying with my family for 2 months, and can I just tell you that they are the funniest, sweetest, cutest people ever. As i’m typing this, one of my grandmas walk over to take a picture of me on her new tablet. How sweet, right? What did I tell you. So about my Saturday morning . . . My tummy was growling and it was already 10am. And since I was in a giddy mood, I decided to cook some sunny-side ups. I turned up the stove along with my morning playlist, so ready for the day.

My “Wake Up and Smile” playlist on Spotify:

. . .After finishing my amazing eggs (they were really good btw), I went to ask my grandma if she wanted something to eat and I caught her dancing to my music! haha! I really didn’t want to interrupt her moment, but I was already walking towards her. She was a bit embarrassed, but she didn’t need to be! I just loved seeing her so happy! For an elderly lady, my grandma never ceases to surprise me with her youthful energy. She’s taught me that smiling keeps one young, and that you shouldn’t take life so seriously. I hope that one day, when i’m her age, I carry the same spirit.

a unique name for a unique girl

Being this is my first blog post, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Dythanne (pronounced dye-th-ann). A unique name, I know. I have yet to find another girl with the same name on Facebook. haha. Because my name is so unique, I usually introduce myself with my second name Chloe. So call me Chloe if you’d like. To bring things into perspective of where I am in life, tomorrow marks another year for me in this thing we call life. (Or at least when I first wrote this blog post. Yes, this is edited. The first draft was much too embarrassing.) It will be my “Sweet 16.”
